Bethany’s Brigade is the youngest ensemble within The Voice Squad, offering a joyful and nurturing introduction to singing and performance for children in Year 4 and below. As part of the wider Voice Squad family, members are welcomed into a warm, supportive environment where confidence, creativity, and a love of music can flourish from the very beginning.
Rehearsals are lively, engaging, and carefully structured to provide both fun and foundational learning. Through a primarily aural approach, supported where appropriate with simple resources for home practice, singers begin to develop essential musical skills, including pitch awareness, rhythm, and ensemble singing. The emphasis is on building confidence and enjoyment, ensuring that each child feels valued and encouraged as part of the group.
Repertoire is age-appropriate, energetic, and imaginative, spanning a variety of styles that inspire enthusiasm and expressive performance. Creativity is actively encouraged, and members are supported in exploring performance in a way that feels natural and rewarding. Senior Voice Squad members regularly assist in rehearsals, acting as positive role models and helping to foster a strong sense of unity and belonging across the organisation.
Bethany’s Brigade places importance on teamwork, with every member contributing to the collective sound and spirit of the group. Regular public performances provide exciting opportunities for singers to share their progress, working towards presentations that reflect both their developing skills and their evident joy in performing.
Entry is open to those in Year 4 and below, with participation beginning via a trial session.
Bethany’s Brigade rehearse from 12 noon to 1pm on Saturdays in Term time.
Rehearsals take place at All Saints Church, Park Rd, Bury Saint Edmunds IP33 3QW.
Fees are £60 per term, with a one-off £10 joining fee, and an additional cost for the required concert uniform.
