The Voice Squad is a fabulous Youth Stage Choir which has been going in Bury St Edmunds for 30 years, giving concerts and staging full-scale musicals. Following her own move to Diss, Voice Squad director – Birgitta Kenyon – has set up a new branch. It is for young singers who love to perform; in a loose choral format we tackle music of all different sorts, with some movement and harmonies, depending on the inclination of the group.
We sing on Mondays at the United Reformed Church, Mere Street, Diss, IP22 4AD at the following times:
1/ Ages 4-9: 3.50pm-4.35pm
2/ Ages 10-13: 4.40pm-5.35pm
3/ Ages 14-20(-ish): 5.35pm-6.45pm
Your first week is a Trial Day, and there’s no charge for this one! All are welcome to try out for free, but it’s really helpful if you can register first, so we can equip you with music to bring.
If you decide to join, the charge is £40, £50 and £60 per ten-week term for the aged groups respectively (which works out at £4/ £5/ £6 per session). We have an in-session performance at the end of term: our young singers will perform for their friends and families so everyone can get the feel of the Voice Squad buzz.
IT’S SIMPLE TO TAKE PART! Just register!
To register please email Birgitta, on firstname.lastname@example.org, stating your child’s name and age, and therefore which group they will be attending. You’ll be sent an acknowledgement, and a WORDSHEET to please print off and bring with you on the day.
Parents may sit in and watch the session.
Finally, please feel free to spread the word and get your friends to drop me a line if they have youngsters who love singing but have no outlet for it! I can be reached on 07967 126740, if you have any questions.
